What are the NuViSal products made of?

The active components of birch distillation residues are tiny components extracted from the birch distillation residue and mixed with some white vaseline or palm butter. The birch distillation residue itself is an oily liquid refined from Finnish birch through the heat treatment in an oxygen-free environment.

How quickly will the product help you?

Depending on the skin problem the product has shown its capability in few days, for example when treating very dry skin with the Light Birch Cream. When treating skin problems with Strong or Extra strong concentrations of the Birch Cream or Birch Oil there have been visible results within 3-6 weeks.

When starting the treatment, there may occur little stinging and rubefaction on the treated area, especially among those suffering from atopy. However, it makes sense to go on with the treatment, unless the product causes any allergic reactions on the healthy part of skin.

What kind of research has there been into the birch distillation residues?

The skin treatment products have been developed and tested in collaboration with dermatologists. In addition, the Tallinn Medicum Clinic has realized different tests using NuViSal for the treatment of persons with skin problems. The birch distillation residues have long been one of the main research objects of the MTT Agrifood Research Finland and there are also several scientific publications on this issue.

What components does a product of birch distillation residue contain?

The skin treatment products based on birch distillation residues contain phenolic and aromatic components.

Can the product be used by people allergic to birch or wood tar?

Half of the persons who are allergic to pollen through their airways have been able to use this product. Furthermore, many persons allergic to wood tar have been able to use it with remarkable results. When you start using the product, however, we recommend that you test it on a small skin spot to assure yourself not to be allergic to any extracts from birch or trunk.

The product smells and stains. How can you help it?

The product has a special smell, which somebody could find too strong. In order to reduce this it is recommended that you cover the treated skin spot and avoid in this way also all kind of stains, too. The creams are used only in thin layers. In addition, we recommend that the treatment is carried out, if possible, when you are having sauna bath, so you can ease these both harmful effects.
